hello, I'm planning to renovate a room and knock down a partition wall to make the room larger.
A thought: I want OSB behind so there's something solid to screw into, but it will add a lot with OSB 11mm + 6mm renovation gypsum! Should I perhaps tear off the existing gypsum underneath first, otherwise it will probably be difficult to find the studs to screw the OSB board into!
 
If you tear down the old plaster, you can add some insulation in the wall as soundproofing between the rooms.
