I am going to use old beams from a barn as decoration in my extension. The dilemma is that the beams are partially infested/have been infested by some form of larvae, with small millimeter-sized holes here and there, and in some places quite a large number.
To prevent bringing invaders into the new building, I would like to give them a kick they won't soon forget. But with what?

Find out exactly what kind of visits you've had in your timber, so you don't drag any hell into the extension, you'll need pictures even to dare to make a guess, there are lots of pests that eat wood.
