I am going to move the drainage to the other side of the room (about 4m), and unfortunately, it is not in the same direction as the floor joists. My question is therefore, is it okay to cut 50 mm holes in the floor joists, or how should it be done?
The house has a crawl space.

But if you have a crawl space, you can pull it in there, right? Then you don't need to make holes in any beams.

Don: thanks for the tip, how did I manage not to find that thread :-P
Sounds like it's 12mm ply on both sides that applies.

Hemmapularen: the problem is that now the drainage seems to be routed in the floor joists, and I don't really know where they "converge". If I run the pipe down into the crawl space, I would have to go up again and splice into the current drainage.
Or maybe I've misunderstood all of this? I haven't had the chance to gain much experience yet.. :)

Somewhere in the house the sewer should go down into the crawl space..
Can't you install a Y-pipe there somewhere and connect the "new" sewer?
