Hello,
I have previously renovated homes that were apartments, but I have never "constructed" anything before and feel like a novice in matters of structural integrity, etc. The idea is to build a space for bicycle storage by "extending" an existing shed roof in all its simplicity, see the profile image below.
On the side from which the picture is taken, it will be open, and on the long side, as well as the other gable, it will be clad with slats/"ribs."
I live on the west coast, so there's no significant snowfall to consider.
Now to the question - do you need to use concrete footings to anchor the posts in the ground (a total of 3 on the long side), or is it sufficient to drive ground anchors into the soil - what does the expertise say?
Thanks in advance!
