No sill against the foundation wall
Hi! We have bought a winter-insulated holiday home from the early 80s. When we tore up the floor in the bathroom, we discovered that there is no sill. The floor joists rest directly on the foundation wall, lecablock. However, there is a sill paper between the wall and joists. Does anyone know if this is a problem and how we can address it if so? Grateful for advice.
That's how our small house from -79 is also built.H Hanna Senna said:Hello! We have purchased a winterized cottage from the early 80s. It got exciting when parts needed to be replaced, and we had to install a mechanically ventilated underfloor (have an uninsulated slab).
Looks really good, no rot damage, just to build again. Great that there was sill paper so nothing was resting on the concrete blocks, dry and poison-free it looks.H Hanna Senna said:Hello!
