No plastic on the exterior wall? - 74
Hello
I was about to change a light switch and discovered that it was very strange/poorly done at the box installation by previous owners. See the picture
I also see no plastic in front of the insulation, which doesn't feel good..
It looks the same at a junction box a bit further up above this one.
There was a window that previous owners had closed up if that makes any difference.
How do I fix this if needed? Preferably without tearing down the entire wall.
Is this a hidden defect?
1.5-story house from '74 and this is against an exterior wall on the upper floor

As long as air is leaking in, there's no danger, just extra ventilation.

However, when it blows and this side ends up on the lee side, the air stops coming in, this also applies to the slot vents in the window. I haven't checked if air is being sucked out of the wall yet, but that can't be good? But maybe it's not a problem since the wind usually changes direction eventually?

As long as you don't have overpressure all the time in the house, any moisture will dry out.
