Nice aluminum mesh instead of mouse band?
Bought a mousetrap rail and have been experimenting a bit. Either I haven't figured out how it's supposed to be installed or my house doesn't align with their idea.
-I think I might have found an emergency solution to manage to mount it this way...
But then I thought a bit... Wouldn't fine mesh be enough instead?
If the mice run towards the house, would they really expend so much energy gnawing through the aluminum mesh? Instead of moving on and searching until they give up and head over to the neighbor instead...
Would be much easier to install...

Anyone know how I should mount the mouse bands?
As a last resort, I'm considering wedging it between the wind barrier and the panel, and using mounting screws to pinch the "tags" flush with the boards.. it should work but it's not really meant to be done that way...

Somewhere I read that 5 mm is the smallest space a mouse needs to get through. Now, I don't know how large the holes in that nail band were but...
In my own case, it's completely pointless to install any mousetrap under my new nice panel because it's a real highway up from the crawl space where they can pretty much get up wherever they want. My fine guillotines work full throttle from autumn to spring. http://www.biltema.se/sv/Fritid/Tradgard/Ovrigt/Musfallor-2-st/
(The cats, however, are comfortably waiting for the food bowl to be filled)

I think 5 mm applies to small mice. Normal-sized house mice are probably stopped by the nail plate, which I think seems like a good idea. I even think I might try it myself if I hear mice in the future - I just finished sealing the attic.
I made a provisional example of how I was considering alternatively mounting the musbanden...
Now both the wall piece and the rail are quite skewed... and the windproof fabric that is visible is not the same as the thick and stiff one that is at the bottom as a wind barrier.
The wind barrier is pressed between the inner wall and the panel... if I stick between the musbandet, it sits somewhat half-heartedly on its own...
If I then use mounting screws and pinch here and there on the panel, it should stay there, somewhat... for a while...
Though the mouse might be so troublesome that it manages to push away the tags that are supposed to be secured but in this case just barely cover the opening..
