Newly laid roofing felt bubbly

Today the papparen has laid half the roof. I don't think it looks good at all. Do you think so?

This is the final surface. The felt roofs I have seen before have been flat. Or bubbly but old.

The underlay paper is laid as you describe. This is then laid opposite.

Not happy with the lower longitudinal either. Just ends up being a bunch of joints to look at.

How did it go with the roof?
I have a roof that looks the same after newly laid tar paper, I'm unsure how to proceed with it so it would be interesting to know what happened with your roof.

Those look like roofing felt that you use under, for example, roof tiles. If you are going to have felt as the only surface layer, I learned that you must have surface felt on the underlay felt because underlay felt is broken down by UV light. Surface felt has a surface of small slate gravel that reflects away UV light. If the roof looked like in the picture, I would have rolled out a few rolls of surface felt lengthwise, and it would look much nicer.
