It would be good if Byggmax acted promptly to prevent an unnecessarily large number of other customers from buying and laying the same floor. There are probably already many more unfortunate customers.
Yes, let's hope they address it so that more people don't encounter the same issue! But I doubt it, the gears probably grind slowly in such large companies.

Are you achieving any success with byggmax?

Not yet. They are investigating the matter and have forwarded the question to Barelink.

I don't really care about the reality either way. I'm claiming against Byggmax, but they have to deal with it.

I've ordered a floor replacement, and now the floors will be good when we install a 15mm khärs floor.

I'll fight with Byggmax as long as it takes.

Yes, it seems to be routine to refer to Barlinek.

You learn from mistakes, I won't buy more flooring from Byggmax.

Thought I would update the thread,
The last answer I got from byggmax was on October 24, which consisted of a "hallo yxskaft" response where they asked for more info despite the fact that answers to all their questions as well as pictures/inspection reports were attached.

I replied on October 24 to the questions again, and since then, it's been radio silence from byggmax's side.

I have purchased new flooring this time, Khars 15 MM oak parquet, and all problems with sponginess and creaking are gone on all 3 floors. All floors were completed last Friday, and now only the painter has 250m2 left to wallpaper/paint + baseboards and moldings.

As it stands now, I'm out roughly 500K and am starting to consider whether it's time to contact ARN and let them take over the case.

We will hopefully be able to start moving into the house we've been renovating since April 3 in 2 weeks, which will be incredibly nice since our initial move-in date was June 31 and has been postponed multiple times. Most recently, everything was ready for move-in on September 15, so it's 2.5 months delayed again due to the flooring.

Now, I'm no expert but could it not be a problem that Byggmax hasn't been given the opportunity to resolve the issue themselves?

They have had the chance, they’ve had several months to resolve it. Besman has condemned the floor, and then there's not much more to do but tear out the faulty floor and install a new one. I have asked Byggmax to send out a representative, be present at inspections, etc., in writing, which they haven't even bothered to respond to.

Byggmax doesn’t have a customer service line to call, the stores don’t have the mandate for anything, and though we have basically been without housing since the end of September, Byggmax hasn’t cared about that either. The only way to contact them is via email, which they respond to approximately every 5-6 weeks.

We haven't been left with any choice but to redo the work quickly so we can move into the house.

Then I say that you will get flex regardless. It is not enough... wider joists do not reduce the flex ("reinforcement/direction with 120"). It is the height that determines...
The flex disappeared when we installed a Khars 15 MM floor instead of Barelink 14mm

Yes, making a floor that deflects is no problem. But widening a joist doesn't help against deflection. It's the height that provides rigidity.
That's what I meant. If there was such a big difference by changing the floor, you can really see how important it can be to choose the right floor.

Yes, it is clearly incredibly important if you value nice floors that don't flex, where joints don't separate, and that are silent.

I had googled about Byggmax floors before purchasing them, and they had received a lot of praise and won tests, but I was still disappointed.

What a boring situation you have ended up in, and even worse is Byggmax's inability to respond. Contact the CEO directly, he is on LinkedIn, "just" message him and he and the management team can sort this out.

That Byggmax does not meet you better in this matter is completely scandalous!
Byggmax proclaims that the customer is the most important - or does that only apply as long as you are a paying customer??
I can understand that large building chains, where no one is directly responsible, can more easily tire and sidetrack individual customers, but shouldn't they take better care of their brand?
Maybe the only solution is that we all stand our ground when we are mistreated so that customer service becomes at least as competitive as the price tag.
Hope you get the compensation you are entitled to!

Great job, hope it gets resolved. For me, Byggmax is a No-No.

I have a cousin who is also very satisfied with their floor from Byggmax. So there's nothing wrong with that, but it might just require a higher standard for the subfloor. On a concrete slab, for example, there is no sag.

For example, we chose Kährs because the Nordic floor we picked did not have the same tone at home as it did in the store. Moreover, it was an extremely good price during a campaign just then. It was a fantastic floor to work with and the finish is really good. We were more than satisfied with ours, at least.

You can halt ARN at any time, so it should be good to start considering it's a very long process.

What do you think about your chances of getting back 500K?
