I am planning to replace the interior walls and ceiling to straighten them out and to be able to reroute electrical wiring and such in an easy way. The question is just what type of material should be used? I've had gypsum walls in previous homes and don't think they provide an optimal mounting surface. Should one combine gypsum with an additional board or use something entirely different?

Are there large price differences?

???

Plasterboard and OSB are good!

Or gips + råspont!! ;)

What is the recommended dimension for each wall section? Price comparison?

I build interior walls, non-load bearing according to:

gypsum
OSB
45x70
70mm insulation
OSB
gypsum

If desired, one can replace OSB with plywood or råspont.

I'm considering replacing an interior wall, but what to do when it's load-bearing? ??? What do you recommend using then?

/Ankan
It depends on how load-bearing it is..... about the same thing. If it's really heavy load, you might go up a dimension to 45x95, but it must be impossible to give a general recommendation on this - I certainly can't!

There are recommendations for load-bearing walls, partition walls, terraces, decks, and much much more.

Yes, I have also recommended Träguiden a few times. It is really good and is continuously updated.

What is OSB??

What is OSB??
Oriented Strand Board
Boards that, unlike gypsum and regular particle boards, can be screwed into. Consists of large chips that are glued together.

I am going to build some new interior walls and the store recommended first putting up chipboard and then drywall to have something to screw into. Is that wrong then??

No, particle board works too. ;) They might not have had OSB in their inventory or they might earn more on the particle board. :D
