As you can see, the garage has cut a hole in the ceiling for my spiral staircase... But now I'm having difficulties figuring out how to make it look nice around the cut edge. Putting up a regular wooden trim is not an option, but do you have any experiences or ideas?

I had made my own moldings from glued laminated timber, cut out the right radius and width, then milled them.
Sounds completely right, but such an effort feels misprioritized right now... Therefore, I would like something flexible/bendable... A thick rope might not be completely wrong unless someone else has a flexible material to suggest.
Hehe, no but seriously - thin plywood (4mm) cut into strips. Straight strips that are to be bent and bent strips on the top, glued in the corner, screwed into the base, sanded/sanded and maybe painted
maybe?
