There is about a 1cm slope on the concrete floor in the basement, the floor is 12sqm (3*4m) and I am now going to lay tiles. Would you use self-leveling compound (or something else) or just go for it?

No floor drain?

No, just a "regular" floor

If it is like a storage room or hobby room, it matters less. The person laying the tiles can probably hide a large part of it with the fix.

Fiddle and fiddle, there will still be a 1 cm fall, you can't build up the fix in those quantities. I would have floated it, doesn't take many minutes to get it right on that small floor.

depends on what you mean by slope. if it is towards the center of the room and from all directions, I would have laid small tiles or used self-leveling compound (can be expensive if there is penetrating ground moisture, as I understand it, since those compounds are quite costly)

if it's just a 1 cm slope towards the inner wall from the outer wall, there's no problem.

I assume you mean a slope of 1 cm/m towards the center of the room. if you use a 10 notched trowel and lay relatively small tiles (max 30x30), it can be managed with satisfactory results. that's what I've done in the laundry room and one other room.
