Hello!

I'm new here and need some tips.

I'm going to move a door complete with frame from one wall to another. I know how to open the wall at the new location, but how do I patch up the hole where the door used to be? If you frame it and use plasterboard as thick as the rest of the wall, there's no space for filler, and you can't tape the joint with tape since the plasterboard isn't recessed all around, so how do you do it?

There will be painted weave on one side, and regular wallpaper on the other when it's finished.

Sure. You strip as usual and then you need to spread the filling over a larger area. That's what the painters always do, and it turns out well.

You can plaster over a larger area, e.g.,
Pappersremsa instead of remsa..

Works provided that the wall is studded and plastered. If it's a stone/concrete wall, it will crack at the joint no matter what you do.

Okay, that's good. Thank you for the help!

I did as you described when I renovated the apartment before I moved in. I had a month to renovate the entire apartment before moving. Back then, I framed, drywalled, and taped up the hole. It turned out well. Now I have more time and thought to ask if it was the right way to do it. Lucky that it was right then :)

Thanks!
