I am going to attach wall cabinets in the kitchen. The wall consists first of a layer of "plaster" which is very porous. It is about 2-3 cm thick. Underneath is brick. The property was built around 1949.
I am considering using so-called triangle plugs for lightweight concrete, but on the other hand, I will reach more solid material after a few cm.
Could this work, or are there other alternatives better suited for the purpose?
This is the type of plug I am planning to use.
Packages of lightweight concrete plugs for porous materials on display in a store, labeled with different sizes and prices.

The plaster is not something to rely on. Use plugs intended for brick/universal plugs and ensure that the screw/plug is long enough to get a good hold in the brick. The plugs in the picture look way too short.

you shall always go into solid material.
plaster is actually not a solid material

The plugs in the picture come in slightly different sizes. For example, for drill hole 12mm and drill depth 65mm and screw diameter 7-8mm or 14x75 and screw diameters 10mm. The brick behind is great for nailing, the old cabinets were secured with nails.

Do you think you can set the cabinets with good anchors for brick?
And what kind of strength do you get on those nails? Pull and falling?

It is never easy to nail into plaster/brick, believe me. But you can easily drill into brick and insert a plug. The best ones are not triangular plugs; nylon plugs from Fischer are the absolute best. If you have the right fit of plug, drill diameter, and screw, you can hang a horse on it. Plugs do not take load in terms of hanging, but their pull-out strength allows you to tighten the screw so that the cabinet sits against the wall with friction. I would use 10 mm Fischer plugs with a 10 mm masonry drill, drive them down so that the anchoring part is in the brick, and 6 mm French screws that are long enough to go through the plug.

Thank you! Nylon plug from fischer with a lag screw it will be. There are a few options to choose from, including one they call SX which has a 4-sided expansion, could that be something?
