Hello
I bought such a handrail bracket at Bauhaus. https://www.bauhaus.se/ledstangsbeslag-matt-silver.html
Some questions
I drill holes in the handrail that are slightly larger than the screw - correct?
I have plasterboard + OSB. I'm a bit unsure where the studs are and if it fits where I want the bracket on the rail, is it enough if it just attaches to the OSB? The plan is to have 4 brackets on about a 3-meter rail.
Thanks in advance.

What is the thickness of the OSB you have? It is a bit coarse and somewhat porous. Normally, the framework in a wall is 600 C/C. You can find one by tapping for dull sounds or using a stud finder, so you can place 4 holders over 3 meters, 4 X 600 = 2400. This is the best way to ensure it holds. Personally, I am doubtful about the durability of OSB if there are children who tend to hang and pull on the handrails.
If you find something that seems to be a rule, you can drill with a tiny drill and feel if there's wood behind, drywall and OSB are only 26 mm, so if there's nothing, the drill will jump in. It's best if you find something to drill with a drill that's a few mm smaller than the core of the thread that's supposed to attach, bites well without cracking if you come a little on the side.Micro553 said:
