I'm going to install a pocket frame in a new build and I'm a bit unsure about the order in which I should take the steps.

I want to get the frame up so I can put up OSB and drywall, then fill, sand, and paint before I lay the floor. But at the same time, the pocket frame should probably stand on the finished floor (parquet) and maybe be screwed into it as well?

If I lay the floor first, I would probably have to install the entire underfloor heating (water-borne in grooved polystyrene) since some loops need to go under the door frame.

In what order would you do this?

I can only speak for how we did it and all 3 pocket frames stand directly on the concrete.

Hmm, I think it looks like the lower edge of the frame should be level with the finished floor. The concrete (or chipboard in my case) is about 4.5 cm lower than the finished floor because I'll have 3 cm slotted insulation and then parquet. In addition, according to the drawing, I should run floor heating pipes under the pocket frame.

In our case, we have them directly on the concrete and then directly a parquet on top.

But if you're going to install the underfloor heating according to the attached drawing, you obviously need to lay the Styrofoam and the coils before installing the pocket frame.

The only thing I'm a bit concerned about is how to securely attach the frame to the "floor" right at the opening. If you only have Styrofoam there, you won't have a solid attachment point.

Offhand, I would have screwed a small block as thick as the Styrofoam (or Styrofoam + parquet) directly into the floorboards to attach the pocket frame downwards. In my case, I would have carefully marked how the coils ran so I knew I could drill and plug into the concrete.

Does anyone else have experience with this particular part?

Have now placed it a bit above the board floor and hope it will be somewhat correct when I thread under styrofoam, underfloor heating pipe, and parquet.

Room under construction with drywall and an open closet filled with bags and materials. Wiring is visible on the unfinished floor.
