I will continue to have masonite boards on the inside of the house's exterior walls.

The existing ones are both glued and stapled with many staples.

How do you install such boards today; are staples the best, or can you use drywall screws or something else to avoid looking for a random staple gun?

there's nothing I would recommend. gets mountains around the nail and the screw that I've tried. invest in brackets I think

isn't it just a matter of sanding away the "bergen" then?

Then the old boards were glued, should I glue and does it really serve any function to glue boards to condensation plastic?

In the old small cottage construction book I have borrowed, it states under the section "nailing of hard boards":
Use 1" galvanized wire nails or so-called "pyramid nails." And at that time, they often used "masonit".

doesn't turn out great. try pyramidspik. haven't done it

have tried googling for a picture of what these look like but can't find anything, anyone know of a picture?
