Mount Elfa shelf on light concrete wall
Hello,
I have tried mounting an Elfa shelf on a lightweight concrete wall, but it's not going well. I drilled, plugged, and started screwing, but nothing holds the plug in place, so it comes out when I screw. It feels like the wall is too porous for the plug with wings that expand to hold.
I have tried larger plugs, but the hole just gets bigger and bigger when they come out.
So now the question is how to solve this in the best way. Fill the hole with something and drill a new hole in the old one? Fill with what, in that case? The hole is 6-7cm deep. The wall is newly wallpapered, so I need something with a long nozzle in that case.
How can I get the plug to stay in the hole in the best way? The shelf is U-shaped with the top against the wall, so it will never press against the plug.
There will be a few kilos of books on the shelf.

Either a screw adapted for lightweight concrete or use something like fischer duo power plug where you also spray in some pl400/600 beforehand. Worked for me in recent years.
The alternative is to not use a support rail and use hanging rails that are screwed, giving you more attachment points.

Follow-up: In the two holes that became too big, I put Fisher GB. In other holes, I used nylon plugs.P Phalle said:Hi,

I didn't find any good spacers to buy, so I cut off plugs and used the hard end as a spacer. Worked very well.
Thanks for all the tips!
