I'm planning to hang two clothes rods, each about 1400 mm, in our wardrobe with a slanted ceiling. Attaching them to the wall is not an option due to aesthetics and because I plan to build shelves on the sides, see the picture.
Elfa doesn't seem to have a good solution; their "center bracket" looks like a flimsy plastic thing. If you don't attach the rod to the walls or their bracket system, Elfa seems off the table.
I'm considering instead Habo's clothes rod holder, which is available at Bygghemma, M5 threaded in zinc/zamak, in a white finish:
That way, you get a more robust piece in metal, keeping all the interior in white, and you can also have the rod in white instead. Or will it quickly get scratched by the hangers?
In any case, I think two holders per rod must be sufficient, and it must be possible to find a stud behind the slanted ceiling to secure the brackets with some sturdy wood screws. It should be able to hold a fair amount of weight, right? I won't be hanging many winter coats or such, mostly shirts, suits, blouses, and trousers.
Another option I'm considering is the leather clothes rod holders from Theofils, but can they really hold up over time?
How steep is the sloped ceiling? Will the rod extend enough so the hanger won't touch the sloped ceiling when the mount is so short?
A white rod will eventually have the paint worn off on the top side - that's how the white rods we've removed looked. It's not very noticeable, so it's not really a problem, but we chose chrome rods, chrome hanging brackets, and wall brackets. (they are screwed upwards into a white board and a white wall so it "works" color-wise)
Even if it's "just" pants, shirts, and so on, it becomes heavier than you think at 1400 mm length - maybe you should put one in the middle too?
Regarding leather, it's strong, so it would probably work durability-wise, but if they hang loosely, will it swing? I don't know if I'd like a permanent clothes rod that doesn't stay still.

Great input all around, will check the slope and consider the sway factor 🙂 thanks!
We did it like this, with a support in the middle since the rod is about 2m long. The supports at the ends have a plywood board screwed on so the rod is held fast lengthwise.
