More insulation in the floor?

I have a house from the 60s and have removed the structural planks to run new electricity, data, TV, etc. In the joists, there's wood chip and newspapers as insulation. In some places, it looks a bit thin with just wood chip. Can I throw on some insulation or is it a bad idea to mix?

Of course, you should add more insulation if there's room. Why not continue with spån?

Didn't even know you could buy shavings. Does the hardware store sell it or is it time to bring out the hand plane

EVERYTHING can be bought. Maybe ask a sawmill/planing mill?
Alternatively, you can buy some "ready" insulation like linull or cellulose. You shouldn't use fiberglass/mineral wool together with what you have now.

I had shoveled away all the shavings and added mineral insulation. Now TS does not specify what type of foundation they have, but I assume it's slab. I have learned that no organic material should be against the slab. Get rid of blocks, cast in joists, shavings, etc.

The house is a single-story with a basement, so it refers to the upper floor. 200 mm concrete slab then a raised floor structure with raw board and masonite on top.
