Planning to renovate a hall that is built on concrete pillars and faces north. The house was built in '56, and the wood is probably from that time. Started tearing down and see dark areas on the insulation (yellow karjuntalja) and also see dark spots on an area of the wood studs. Should I just bite the bullet and replace all wood, or can I clean it and treat it with mold treatment and still live in the house? The affected stud is against one of the windows in the hall, so it's probably not very tight there.

  • Dark-stained wooden beam with mold-like spots next to a pale wall, possibly indicating moisture damage, part of a renovation project.
