My first post here on Byggahus.se, so interesting to see if I can get help solving this mystery that has halted planned floor installation for more than a year now!

Hello all experts on moisture migration!
I have a problem with a couple of very wet/damp boards in a wall in an uninsulated old storage building with a previous dirt floor & uninsulated slab on the ground.
They (standing boards) seem to absorb moisture at the bottom edge but without contact with the ground/concrete slab? This has been going on for years & regardless of outdoor weather (rain, snow etc)!

For info, I have measured and checked the ceiling without finding any moisture intrusion that way, and the dirt floor/drainage gravel is also not above 80% humidity? However, the slab & Lecawall on the left can be a little damp but no standing water or the like.

I would like to solve the problem so I dare to enclose the wall, so all tips on where this moisture comes from are gratefully received!
In the attached picture, you can clearly see where the boards have been/are damp. Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

  • Wet wooden planks at the bottom of a wall in an old storage building, adjacent to a concrete wall with hooks, showing signs of moisture damage.
  • Damp wooden planks in an old uninsulated storage building, showing moisture at the bottom near a concrete slab and gravel floor.
  • Wood planks with moisture marks and metal bracket, indicating possible source of dampness in an uninsulated storage building wall.
  • Wet wooden planks standing against a concrete wall in an old storage building, with visible signs of moisture at the bottom edges.
