I have bought a small cabin that has been without roof tiles for some time. The roofing felt has let water through in some places, which has caused the insulation in some areas to become wet and it has been like this for about 5 years.

I have started tearing this down and on the interior ceiling there are a couple of spots with a few boards that are almost completely black. I have torn this out now but there is still some timber that is wet and dark in color.

Water has then made its way to the exterior walls and above a window, the stud is completely wet and black. It has certainly made its way down along the exterior walls in more places that I can't see. How serious is this?

The idea with this cabin is to make it decent enough to live in for a year or so. I'm mostly worried about mold. It's okay if it's a little rotten, it's not new. How worried should I be about this and how do I know what needs to be replaced?
