Hello!

As a "house beginner," I'm turning to you:

Today, I had the house (from 1914) that I am considering buying inspected. During the inspection, excessively high moisture levels were measured at the bottom edges of some of the ground floor's interior walls (material = stone). The house is built on a slab (or probably more accurately on a backfilled/poured crawl space), and the theory that was "formulated" is that moisture from the slab has migrated up into the walls.

1. Does this sound like a reasonable explanation?

2. Is there anything that can be done about it or should I refrain from buying?

Best regards / Jonas

1. Yes.
2. How is the drainage? It may need to be redone.
