Hello

What kind of milling cutter do you need to make a batten with a hat profile?

I get wood cheaply from my neighbor, so I'd rather avoid buying ready-made battens and am thinking that maybe it's possible to mill with a handheld router. I have no experience with milling but enjoy trying new things and it's fun to work with my hands.

I'm no expert, but the router is a favorite tool for me. You probably need to spend some time on a jig, but I don't think you need any special steel to make it work.
Attached is an image from a book (German book, so excuse the Swedish) where the picture might help you further with making a jig :) Diagram of a woodworking jig setup for a router from a German book, showing detailed labeled parts and design for precise circular routing.

Hi! I need to router some hat battens only a few meters. Did you find a good method with the handheld router? Regards
