Mexitegel indoors - remove or install new wall on top?

In our 1970s house, there is a wall on the gable with mexitegel applied. Not real bricks though, but about 1 cm thick. Still with grout in between and glued against the previous interior wall.

What would be best, to knock down all the brick and re-plaster or can one put up a framework outside the brick wall and put new plasterboards?

Best from which perspective? Least work? Construction-wise? Economically?

The highest priority is for it to be good. But if I don't need to knock down the bricks, I would prefer to avoid that job.
