From what I've understood here on the forum, you shouldn't use standard profiled sheet metal as a low-sloped substrate for a balcony floor; instead, you need a welded roof.

Therefore, my question is: what is the minimum slope recommended for profiled sheet metal, and is it possible to build a balcony floor on such a steep substrate?

Our balcony is above an extension, so it's important that the roof is watertight.

You can use seam metal. You then fold it up a bit under the façade and fold down the edge on the outside of the balcony to create a drip edge. You lay seam metal directly on the roof/felt without battens. On top of that, you then make a wooden deck. It can sit loosely on top. Under the deck, you can attach gummiduk, available at the hardware store. If the deck happens to move, it won't scratch the metal.

Thank you for the answer! Can you install standing seam metal roofing yourself?

Yes and no. A standing seam metal roof model click flooring is fine to install yourself. However, the slope should be at least 8 degrees. A properly standing seam roof should be double seamed in this case and is significantly more difficult to do yourself. Special tools are required if it is to turn out well. However, if the balcony is not too large, so that the roof would fit on a trailer, you can order it to measure from a tinsmith and lift it into place and finish it afterwards.

The balcony will be approximately 7 x 4 m, so in that case, I might have to hire roofers :(
I think there should be some other solution..?

Wouldn't it be okay to just put a cardboard roof underneath? The runoff might not be the best, but what doesn't drain away evaporates through the decking. It's also simple.

No, I don't think so, papp doesn't become tight enough to handle, for example, lying snow that thaws.

All ordinary houses with felt roofs then? :O

But they usually don't have flat roofs..?

That's also true. But you can come up with a solution using a gutter of some sort. I just mean that a papptak is an option...
