Currently renovating the hallway. The walls are currently covered in heavy weave (painted in apricot...) and behind the weave is tretex.
Planning to install MDF beadboard paneling and wondering if there are any do's and don'ts?
The ceiling height is 2600mm and the boards are 2400mm, which will require quite a bit of lengthwise splicing. Any tips on joining to hide the seams?
Planning to buy untreated and paint them myself. Partly to add some "life" to the painting, and also because I assume I will need to hide nail holes and seams.

I installed such panels in parts of the bathroom a while ago, but I glued them up. There were no major issues working with them...can't think of anything you need to keep in mind actually. Painting went well, we used linoljefärg. If you want to avoid seams, perhaps a couple of substantial baseboards/cornices can take care of that problem? It depends a bit on what you have in the house otherwise, of course.

Splicing without covering with trim is useless. I have installed MDF paneling in a few places, including the stairwell, and in a couple of spots where the height wasn't sufficient, like a corner here and there, these are spliced but it becomes visible over time as it shrinks/swells.

It's really a shame that it doesn't work well to splice... If I'm going to cover with molding, it will be about 100mm at the top and 100mm at the bottom...
Can't it work well if you apply acrylic sealant in the seams or something?

Do as it is done in our home, we have (genuine) beadboard all the way from floor to ceiling, but in the middle, they have placed a profiled molding. The molding and the beadboard below are pilsner-painted, and above the molding, it is painted white. Looks really good, except for the choice of color below...
