Hello.

I've found a stylish black matte-glazed tile to lay on the bathroom floor. I showed it to an acquaintance who is a tiler, and his spontaneous reaction was "Stylish, but difficult when it comes to keeping lime stains away. You'll have to dry-mop the floor to avoid stains" :( That didn't sound entirely optimal considering that in a bathroom, the floor is wet, at least in the shower. Does anyone have different experiences or can confirm that matte tile is unsuitable for use in bathrooms?

It probably depends a bit on where in the country you live. In Skåne and the east coast (e.g. Trosa), the water is often lime-rich, and what I've seen is that dark sinks always appear unclean with spots from the water. In Gothenburg, there's less lime in the water, and the sinks don't get spotted as quickly. The same probably applies to floors.

Do a test, ask to get a sample tile and splash it with water daily, allowing it to air dry. After a few days/weeks, you should see results, although on a small scale, but still something.
