Hello!

I am planning to install two shelves under our sink since the wire baskets that were there before are gone. I was thinking of using the grooves meant for the wire baskets to mount the shelves.

The grooves are 9mm, so the board cannot be thicker than that.

What material should I use? I don't want anything that bends or warps.

What is the width of the cabinet, and what are you planning to place on the shelf?
Do you want the shelf to be extendable because you want to use the slots?

take a 6mm plywood, glue an additional 6mm board (slightly narrower) to stiffen it so it becomes 12mm

or a 12:a at once and fry a little on the edges for the track

Unfortunately, 12mm won't work, I only have 9mm available. and I don't have any fancy router to fix the edges with.

It is about 50cm wide and 60cm deep.

But a 6mm plywood would work well?

but this might give me a reason to buy a milling machine ;)

I will have to check with my partner. But probably not.

A single one might be a bit weak. It was Daydreamer who wanted to glue a slightly smaller piece underneath, cut to fit between the track holders or whatever you want to call it. My thought with a single 12 mm was that it's stronger with factory lamination than if you do it yourself.

aha! I missed that he wrote "a bit narrower"

I will see if any neighbor has a milling machine I can borrow
