I was thinking of building a chimney "capping" similar to those you can see in places like Dalarna, i.e., standing bricks at the corners on top of (the masonry) chimney, then a slab of something (slate? sandstone?) on top of that, and finally a masonry top in the form of a small spire or similar. Often very imaginative and artistically made.

– Does anyone know what material the actual slab is made of?

– Do you think it could work with minerit as an alternative, or does anyone have a better suggestion? (I'm not sure if minerit can withstand the weather.)

Best regards!

Edit: After some more googling, I found out it might be called "zornkrona". And I found a picture:
A decorative chimney cap with corner bricks and a steeple-like construction on top, inspired by "zornkrona" designs from Dalarna.

No answer yet, so now I'm answering my own question. I called a mason in Mora and asked. The slab is often cast and can be purchased from, among others, Murtjänst in Mora (http://www.murtjanst.com/). They manufacture on order. About 45 mm thick and 50 mm overhang with drip edge all around. Price: about 400.

Take care!
