I am in the process of installing a stove and doing the work according to the chimney sweep's instructions. However, I'm wondering a bit about the material behind the stove. The chimney sweep suggests that it should be Minarit if it's a regular wall. Behind the stove is the chimney breast, so that's not a problem, but to the side, it's a regular wall. We plan to put slate tiles both behind and on the side, and now I wonder if I need to put Minarit on the side wall UNDER the slate tiles?

Furthermore, I also wonder if there needs to be special FIX and GROUT to withstand the heat from the stove...?

The important thing is the distance to the first combustible material, what is on the outermost part does not matter if it is too close to, for example, a wooden wall stud... That's how I understood it from my chimney sweep.

That's how I understood it too when we had our stove installed a couple of years ago...

Everything is in the instructions that come with the stove, including distances and measurements.

Thanks for your posts! Have also talked to the chimney sweep again. So now we're on track! :D
