Now that I have renovated the cabin, I have left the stove area untouched. The reason is the material that is behind... I wonder if anyone knows what it is? They are boards about 1 m2 that look something like pressed straw? The cabin is from 1964. Feel free to write if you think you know what this is, does it contain asbestos? Can I plaster these boards?
 
Isn't it cement-bound reed?
 
I've googled around and it seems to be träullit. It also doesn't seem to contain asbestos so you can just keep them and polish them :)
