lower the ceiling?

Anyone have advice/tips on when to lower a ceiling to install spotlights and put in a new ceiling?! Should I insulate in between? Should I use plastic in the ceiling? (old house that doesn't have plastic now...)

Depends on the size of the room and how much you plan to lower the ceiling. In our bathroom, we installed 45x70 at an appropriate height on the surrounding walls, then cc30 on that. If there's no plastic in the house today, there's no point in adding it. Insulation feels unnecessary unless you really need it; without it, you avoid needing pots for the spotlights, at least for 10-20w spotlights.

Did you set 45x70 on cc 30 or did you use another dimension for framing?

Should one plaster the ceiling or install elite ceiling panels?...what is best/nicest ?

We ran 45x70 all the way. The bathroom is only 2.5m, so no major expense, no need to attach to the ceiling or to frame on the short sides either.
Installed white ceiling panels, purchased at Coop.
