Anyone daring enough to say how low I can make a post foundation?
I am building an accessory building and need all the headroom for the loft.
I've dug out 20-30 cm and filled with gravel. The ground is quite dry underneath, with a mix of sand, soil, and stones.
I'm thinking of keeping it simple since digging deep enough to be frost-free is a hassle. I plan to first lay a garden slab to get a somewhat larger bearing surface, and then put a Leca block on top of that.
Is it sufficient to have 5 cm of air beneath the joist to the gravel if I place plastic underneath to prevent ground moisture?

OK, then I will probably try that.
Yes, it would be the best solution apart from the cost.
I would then also ideally run a conduit and connect underfloor heating to the geothermal heat pump from the boiler room (about 30 m away).
But the thing is that the building will be a storage for the first few years while we do a major expansion of the house.
So partly I want to get started with this/get it done so I can start on the house.
Then I'll invest the money in the house.
Then we know how it usually is with temporary storage, they tend to become permanent. But I still want to have it prepared because the current idea is that it will later become a small apartment.
Another reason not to pour is that the building will be at the bottom of the yard, it would be nice to avoid driving in with a tractor etc. and ruining the lawn.
