Looong screws

Hello,

I'm trying to find long screws to screw into wood. The longest I've found are 250 mm and they were at Biltema. Unfortunately, they are just about too short and barely reach the wood. I would prefer a length of 270 - 300 mm instead. The question is where can one find such screws? I need a maximum of 10 pieces.

Keep in mind that there is often very unusual stress on a very long screw. If a very long screw is needed, there is often reason to consider if the problem can be solved in another way.

The screws should secure a flat bar that presses 200 mm of polystyrene against the truss. If you need to splice, how do you do it? Cut and weld?

I know that icopal usually uses it for foam plastic on flat roofs.

But I don't know where to get it.

SFS Intec had awesome stuff but couldn't find a decent retailer. Had to resort to ebay instead as working in another city means I never make it home in time before local shops close. Thanks for all the tips

The screws are supposed to secure a flat bar that presses 200 mm Styrofoam against the roof truss. If you splice, how do you do it? Cut and weld?

Take the screws you have and go to the nearest metalworking company... they will splice them quickly and easily...
