I'm currently furnishing our garage and now need some help regarding the workbench.
I need a workbench that is approximately 440cm long, at least 61cm deep, and 4cm thick. Oak or beech, needs to be relatively hard. Beneath this bench, I will underlay a fairly large sink (Ikea Långudden 56*53cm).
The question now is, can I get a bench that is in one piece and how difficult will it be to "work on" it to saw and rout for the sink?
Is it better to take two pieces at 220cm each and then join them? How will such a joint look and behave then?
