People often ask here and there if a wall is load-bearing, but how do you actually know if a wall is load-bearing? If you tear down a load-bearing wall, well, you will probably notice that quite clearly, but how do you know when you are looking at a wall.
For example, I have a larger, wider garage, with one half for a car and to the right of it is a storage room that is slightly smaller than the car space. Behind the storage room, there is another space that takes up the rest of the area next to the car's place.
Then, along the entire back, there is a storage room running the entire width.
Now I am considering dividing the car's space with a partition wall at the back and then tearing down the wall between the garage and the storage room that is adjacent.
But is this wall perhaps load-bearing, or are the beams that run across and support the roof enough?
How should I go about investigating this?
