Hello!

We have just moved into a house and are planning to demolish the wall between the kitchen and the bedroom. The wall is only about 5 cm wide excluding insulation and masonite boards. It is not built with studs and insulation between two plates but only with boards. Horizontal on one side and vertical on the other. It doesn't feel like it could be load-bearing, but we are a bit uncertain since we are beginners at this. :) Sending a drawing where the red arrows indicate which wall to demolish and the blue ones show the direction of the roof ridge. Since, judging by the staircase, you seem to have an upper floor, I would suspect that it is load-bearing.
The floor structure cannot handle the span without causing disturbing flex and sag without having a load-bearing wall or, for example, a laminated beam underneath.

If the floor structure is very specially made, it could possibly be self-supporting, for example made of high laminated beams, kertobalks, or concrete slabs, etc. But one usually does not choose such an expensive alternative if there is a wall underneath, as in your house.
 
It is not really possible to answer that question without knowing which direction the flooring on the upper floor is laid. If the flooring runs from left to right in the picture, the wall is probably not load-bearing, but if it runs from top to bottom in the picture, it is load-bearing.

However, I would guess based on the house's construction that the flooring on the upper floor runs from left to right, but this is something you need to investigate.

In that case, the house doesn't have regular trusses. :)
 
Tore off the paper on the ceiling now and can see that there are boards in the same direction as the wall that is to be demolished, these seem to be nailed to studs going in the opposite direction, which should mean that the wall is load-bearing. Too bad, but since the craftsmen are going to take care of the bathroom anyway, they can take the wall at the same time. Thank you so much for all the answers.
 
If you really only have BRÄDOR in the wall, then it can't be load-bearing in any way.
If it's plank, however, it's a different matter.

If I were to guess about the load-bearing based only on having seen the blueprint, it seems likely that any load-bearing walls are those that separate the staircase, vestibule, and bathroom from the living room, kitchen, and bedroom.
 
What is the difference between planks and boards?
The standing boards/planks are about 1.5" thick and the lying ones about 1" thick and they are about 15 cm wide.
Excuse my ignorance. ;)
 
I don't know what the correct definition is, but it's often said that a "bräda" is thinner than a "planka" and a "planka" is thicker than a "bräda"... That might not help you much, so I hope you get a better answer soon ;)

what type of house is it, is it a 2-story or 1.5-story house?
If it is a 2-story house, it is important for us to also see how the upper floor is constructed.

Here we have the upper floor. (It has been a two-family house, hence the kitchen on the upper floor.)

Planks should be 2" or thicker.
 
I would guess that it at least provides some form of support. But since it doesn't stand directly on the wall in the basement (not all of it anyway) there isn't a huge amount of pressure on it, I would think.

If you really want to remove it, you can always put up a beam instead, a relatively simple operation.
The easiest way is if you see which way the beams are lying. If they lie with the wall, it's fine.

I disagree with you.
In the drawing, there's even a foundation footing drawn right in the middle of the house under the wall in the basement, so the designer seems to have accounted for heavy loads.

I maintain that the intended wall should be load-bearing.
Otherwise, you don't have regular roof trusses but some sort of glulam beam or steel beam in the ridge.
And in that case, the person who designed the house has really overdone the foundation without any apparent reason.

The sectional drawing is, by the way, a section of the other side of the house, i.e., over the part where the v-rummen on both floors are. This is clearly visible if you look at the basement level.

You're probably right. :)
But there still shouldn't be any problem with putting up a beam instead.
