Hello
I am considering opening 4m of the wall between the bedroom and the storage attic on the upper floor to build a sliding door wardrobe. Is this wall load-bearing for the ridge wind/roof, and what does the slanted beam in the storage attic mean for load-bearing capacity?
Is it common for a carpenter on site to determine this, or which person does? I have a carpenter who is supposed to come by and check, but this was decided before I thought about the potential load-bearing wall, so maybe I should start elsewhere?
I wonder if anyone can help me decipher what is actually on the drawing and in the accompanying load-bearing calculations. Unfortunately, this is what the municipality has after the physical archives were digitized... (too bad they didn't scan better)
