Hello,

I'm going to put up kitchen cabinets on this wall:

A room with a cream wall, a hanging geometric lamp, leaning wood pieces, and a ladder beside a toolbox with tools.

To run water and electricity, the plan is to frame out with 45x45 studs and then screw the overhead cabinets with wood screws into the studs. So it's definitely important to anchor the studs to the wall ;-).

It seems like the wall up to the arch is a solid wood wall original from 1884. Another similar wall in the apartment consisted of standing wooden beams, perhaps 100x150, with cross beams and then reed and plaster.

What do you think about attaching the standing studs with long wood screws? The overhead cabinets will be quite heavy and they will also be double in height, so there will be some force outward. Do you think there's any risk that the wall won't handle it? The other wall felt very solid, but thought it was best to double-check with you ;-)

It's all good 😊

How wonderful to get such a certain answer ;-).

Now there's only one rule missing, half of the wall turned out to be brick and the other half wood, so it became a mix of wall plugs and wood screws ;-)

A step ladder in front of a partially built wall with visible wooden studs and a mix of drywall and exposed surfaces.

And yes, I need to get a longer ladder ;-)
