Renovating my newly purchased 1.5-story house and I see a previous renovation where a load-bearing wall on the ground floor has been opened.
The "hole" in the wall is directly under the upstairs wall.

The opening is 2.2 m wide and there is no glulam beam, just an upright 45 x 200 mm stud with an additional 25 mm screwed on the side.

Is this sufficient to support the wall, or is there a significant risk that something will happen?

Hello!

From what I understand, you probably need to apply for a building permit for similar interventions.
So maybe you can find out something that way, if it has been applied for? :)

25mm what screwed on the side??

It might be that you need planning permission if you significantly change the building's function, as it is nicely put.
