I am building an aquarium stand for an aquarium measuring 150 cm x 60 cm x 60cm. Since the stand will be placed on the short side of the sofa group, I cannot use outward hinges. Therefore, I was thinking of using upward lift fittings, something like this: http://www.hettich.com/se/3430_14148.htm
Does anyone know where to buy such lift fittings and the approximate price for them? The panel the flap will open is 60x670 cm (IKEA kitchen panel).
Would it be possible to build a similar lift mechanism myself in some way?
The flap will be opened rather infrequently, so it doesn't need to be designed for frequent kitchen panel opening.
