I have a wall in the basement that is brick at the bottom (with plaster on top) and then wood above. The plastered part is anything but even and is about 20mm beyond the upper part.

Is there a relatively simple and quick way to make this into a flat wall?
If not, what is the difficult and more time-consuming solution?

Attached is a not entirely clear picture but I tried to shine through so you can see the gaps against the wall.

[Edit]
Forgot to mention that I don't want it to build more than the plastered part today. Then I'll have problems with doors that will get stuck.

Uneven basement wall with a spirit level showing gaps, highlighting a plastered bottom and wooden top section, adjacent to a light-colored door.
