Length of screw/nail for exterior cladding?
Hello,
I'm going to replace the panel on a gable and need to screw up some panel boards, so I have a few questions about which screws are best and the length of the screws.
Does anyone have knowledge about this?
I will be using 21x120 panel boards, what type and length are recommended for the screws?
Should the screws for the baseboard be the same length as for the cover board (feels like they should be different)?
As you can see, I have no idea at all.
I haven't torn down the panel that needs to be replaced yet, so I don't know the dimensions of the battens behind it where I'll be attaching the panel.
The same questions apply to nails for the panel boards I will be nailing.
Length and any particular type that is recommended?
Thank you in advance

Panel board about 42-45 mm and cover board about 65-70 mm. I usually use screws that are twice as long as what I'm fastening. And with the cover board, you also add the length to the material you're fastening into. Of course, you can use longer screws as well.
Thanks for the answer.A AndersS said:
