Laying tiles in the hall with a tricky base.
Hello everyone.
I want to lay tiles in the hallway but have a problem.
The idea is to remove the planks up to the front door and replace them with floor gypsum or chipboard, and then lay tiles. But right in front of the front door, there is concrete. It is the same concrete that is outside in the stairwell. If I lay floor gypsum directly on the floor, the level difference will be too high compared to the rest of the floor.
I'm also afraid to chisel or hack away the concrete to lower the height, with the risk of damaging the stairwell outside.
Do you have any tips on how I can do this?
Can I remove the planks, replace them with a gypsum board up to the concrete, and ensure it's tight between the concrete and the board? Is there a risk that they will move differently and the tiles will crack?

I had chiseled away the concrete block inside the door. It was cast after the floor was laid (visible in how it's shaped around the planks) and should not be connected to the concrete outside in the stairwell.
