Hello,
I need to attach a spiral duct to the chimney. The problem is that my arms are too short to reach it. It needs to be attached at the top left in the picture.
The heat pump is pretty much fixed where it stands.
It's exhaust air from the laundry room.

Does anyone have a good idea on how I can go about it?

Extend trowels with wooden handles?
Foam sealant with an extended nozzle?
Metal flange with adhesive pressed on with wooden sticks?
Hire a super slim helper?

All creative ideas are gratefully received!

  • Close-up of plumbing and ducts behind a heater with exposed pipes and insulation. A vent in the upper left corner suggests air duct installation.
Do you have to brick then?
Press in the pipe and try to poke insulation around it as best as you can?

I guess I don't have to. Maybe it can work to stick insulation around, but will it be tight then?

Does it have to be completely sealed then?
What is the pipe for?

It is to be for exhaust ventilation in the laundry room and into the available channel in the chimney.
