Planning to build a staircase with granite block steps. To construct the sides, I intend to cast L-supports on both sides and build up with 0-32 between them, upon which I will place the granite block steps, as shown in the short video clip.

I have now cast the first side and received a recommendation from someone in the industry that it suffices to have a reinforcing mesh at the bottom, rising into the support, as shown in the attached image. The dimensions of the L-support, which is 1.6 meters long, are:
Height 1000mm - 490 mm
Depth 600mm
Thickness 190mm

I've browsed some threads about reinforcement and am now wondering if it's really enough to only have the reinforcing mesh? The person who recommended this said that for prefab L-supports, there is only a mesh in the "L" angle...

Concrete formwork with rebar grid for L-shaped support, showing reinforcement for granite step construction, set on gravel with wooden frame.

Someone?

If the load-bearing layer absorbs the vertical loads, I think the basic reinforcement that the mesh provides should be sufficient.

Okay, are you thinking about the subbase under the supports?

I was considering if there will be horizontal pressure behind the support where there will be compacted subbase and granite block steps behind it. These loads are more or less constant except when you walk on the steps and possible snow lying on the stairs. I don't want the vertical part of the support to give way to those loads...

Without having been on your property, the question is naturally a bit theoretical. The largest loads are vertical and the granite blocks will also help keep the L-supports apart. I wouldn't worry about this.

Ok, then I'll go with that reinforcement.
Thanks for the reply!
