I am going to put together a tabletop from rough-sawn timber (4.5 x 12.5 cm) that I have had lying on a cold loft outside. The table will be indoors later, so the question is how should I best prepare the timber before assembling it? Should it lie loose inside, or be stacked with air in between, press? And how long should I have it "dry" before I build it together? Dowel or biscuit joiner for such coarse wood?
