Hello! Does anyone know what this material found and drilled into inside my closet is? It's from the 60s and the carpenter tore everything out today. It sort of sparkles in the light.

  • Close-up of a drilled hole in 60s-era building material, showing sparkly texture under light. Orange plastic is partially visible.
  • Drilled wall inside a 1960s closet with exposed glittery material; orange debris present.
Regular concrete?

When you knock on it, it feels like a wooden board, about 2 cm thick.

This is how it looks with a flash, then the glitter is visible. Does asbestos and eternit sparkle?

Minerit?

What glitters are probably stones mixed with the cement? Eternit is not used in that way.

minerit is between 4 and 12mm thick

It looks exactly like minerit, especially considering the glitter. I have some at home as a duct for the chimney.

Thank you for all the answers! It seems to be minerit, probably two boards put together since it's not as thin as 12 mm. On the other side, there's space for ventilation pipes between mine and the neighbors' apartments.

Then I guess it is part of the fire safety and must be present.
